The data models can be printed as full-scale plotter-sized or as multi-page versions. For instructions on how to print each format, choose from the options below.

Printing Custom Screen Prints

Follow these instructions to zoom in/out of the Data Model and print custom screen prints.

  1. Open the data model PDF file you desire.  Be sure to choose a model labeled Single Page Format.
  2. While viewing the Metadata model, use the Adobe zoom tool to obtain the desired font size.
  3. Select “File > Print” from the drop down menu.
  4. In the "Print Range" box select "Current View".
  5. In the "Page Handling" box, find “Page Scaling” and select "Fit to Paper".
  6. Click “OK” to print the screen shot.

NOTE: You may need to install Adobe Reader 6.0 to use this option. Acrobat Reader 4.0 doesn’t support this print option. Adobe 6.0 can be downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

Printing Multi-Page Models

Follow the instructions below to print a multi-page data model to your local printer.

  1. Open the data model PDF file you desire.  Be sure to choose a model labeled Multi-Page Format
  2. Select “File > Print” from the drop down menu.
  3. Under "Printer Name”, select a local printer that uses standard letter (81/2”X11”) paper.
  4. Click “OK” to print the Data Model to a local printer.

NOTE: The majority of the multi-page data models were created from a single page Erwin model.This means that the model tables may split between pages. If this occurs, then you will need to tape multiple model pages together to view entire tables The pages will line-up easily to give you the full view of the model.

 

Printing Full Scale (Single Page) Plotter Sized Models

Are you tired of flipping through pages of 8 1/2" x 11" sized data models? Would you like your own copy of a full-scale plotter-printed data model? Follow these instructions to print a full scale data model to a plotter printer connected to your local network.

  1. Open the Single Page Format data model that you wish to print.
  2. Select “File/Print” from the drop-down menu.
  3. Under printer “name” select a local plotter printer.
  4. Select “Properties”, on the “Layout” tab, then click “Advanced”.
  5. Under“Paper Size”, choose the desired size.
  6. Click “OK” to apply these changes, click “OK” a second time to return to the print screen.
  7. Adobe Reader 4 user: On the print screen, under the “Copies and Adjustments” heading, select “Expand small pages to paper size”.
    Adobe Reader 6 users: On the print screen, in the “Page Handling” box, find “Page Scaling” and select “Fit to Paper”.
  8. Click “OK” to print the Data Model to a local Plotter printer.
