Overview
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly shaping how organizations operate, analyze information and deliver services. AITS is leading a coordinated, responsible approach to AI adoption that supports operational excellence across the System Offices and enterprise systems.
Our focus is on enabling practical AI capabilities that help System Office staff work more efficiently, improve analytics and decision-making, and automate routine processes while maintaining strong governance and data protection standards. AITS provides access to approved AI tools, enterprise platforms, and infrastructure that allow teams to explore AI safely and responsibly.
AITS supports AI adoption through a combination of enterprise AI tools, secure infrastructure, and applied AI solutions. This includes access to approved AI platforms such as ChatGPT Edu, Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and other enterprise tools; infrastructure capabilities including on-premises AI resources and cloud AI services; and applied solutions such as AI assistants, analytics agents, and retrieval-augmented systems designed to support real operational use cases across the System Offices.
In addition to technology platforms, AITS maintains governance frameworks that guide safe and compliant AI use across the System Offices. These include AI guidelines for responsible use, an AI risk assessment process, and a curated list of approved AI tools designed to help reduce shadow AI while ensuring alignment with university policies and regulatory requirements.
AITS also supports workforce readiness through training and professional development programs such as AI for Leaders workshops, AI fundamentals courses, and practical training on tools like GitHub Copilot and other enterprise AI platforms. In addition, AITS is fostering AI user communities and user groups that provide spaces for System Office staff to share ideas, discuss practical use cases, and collaborate on how AI can improve day-to-day work. Together, these efforts help build confidence, encourage responsible experimentation, and empower System Office staff to use AI effectively in their roles.
Through collaboration with System Office units including HR, Finance, and administrative teams, AITS is working to build a sustainable AI ecosystem that enables innovation while prioritizing governance, transparency, and responsible use.
