Mainframe Data Transition

The Mainframe Data Transition (MDT) project was charged with the task of salvaging data from legacy computing platforms. Data that met documented retention requirements was moved with minimal transformation to the open systems environment where it can be made available to authorized users.

Data replatformed by MDT is available for authorized users to access. Because the MDT environment contains secure data the functional owner of the data must approve access to the data and the appropriate permissions must be applied to the environment by AITS Security.

The Mainframe Data Transition (MDT) project was completed in July 2005. Information on the legacy applications is contained in the MDT Application Inventory.
